Aargh!! All my messages have disappeared from my Inbox!

Hae talktalk email account - normally my inbox has all the recent messages in it, as well as the new ones. Have just switched on, and no messages! Need to get them back as there were one or two I need to reply to. Any idea how I get them? All it's showing is today's messages.

Have found my messages - in Outlook Express! Why have they gone there?! The cat walked over the keyboard today, maybe she pressed something. So, have found the messages, but how the flip do I get them back into my talktalk inbox? (It's AOL) Tried to copy and paste but that didn't work.
