when it arrives on Friday, it will only connect through an ariel, and NOT a dish connection. (because the dish is satellite, not transmitter-based). If this is the case, how does it transmit programmes (such as nickelodeon/Disney output) which are outside of the feeview range (which is very limited round here).

I don't have BT Vision, so please someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I was under the impression that the normal freeview channels will come in via the aerial through the built-in freeview tuner in the box, and everything else via the broadband connection? But I could be wrong.

Naoko - I have noo idea. I think you may be right - in fact I am hoping so.

I started using BT Vision last week. Yes you are right in that you need to connect via an aerial for the Freeview channels but the rest of the On Demand stuff is via the hub.

thanks Dilly! - how has it been? I am moving from Sky to Vision.

It's been great so far. One word of advice, if the hub is not going to be plugged in to the box you'll need to use the included vision adapters. They need to be plugged directly into the wall and not on an extension lead as I initially did......then wondered why I lost BT Vision every time the phone rang. All sorted now but BT could do with including that advice in the box!

Ah yes, I asked about that. The hub is upstairs in a bedroom, the box will be downstairs in the lounge. The Nice Lady from BT talked about the need to boost a signal using the adapter, but didn't say it had to go into it's own socket.
