We are leaving Sky as so tired of their charging us for everything and anything that they possibly can.
What broadband deals are good at the moment? We can't get Broadband upstairs at the moment and apparently could if we had an N box. Interested in phone/ broadband combo

What's best depends on your location and priorities.

Do you require cheap, good customer service, highest possible speed and/or large/no download limits.

I would suggest looking into O2/Be or PlusNet to start with.

I'm looking too, also leaving Sky. TalkTalk are always in the paper for shite customer service so we won't be using them. O2 seem cheap if you are already with them for mobile (we aren't)

Quick summary.

Virgin cable. Fastest broadband around, quite reliable. I left because when there were problems the customer service was atrocious. It may have improved? Virgin cable is not available everywhere. They also do an ADSL service, but I can't see why you would bother with them if you can't get the cable service.

O2/Be have a good reputation for customer service and reliability. They can be cheap, particularly for O2 mobile customers.

PlusNet can be cheap if you are in the right area. Customer service is generally good and the call centres are UK only. I moved my mother in law from TalkTalk to PlusNet and it's been a good move.

BT are OK, but I can't see why you would bother when they own PlusNet , who are cheaper and have better customer service.

TalkTalk are cheap and there's a reason for that.

You can find plenty of alternatives and do comparisons at thinkbroadband.com.
