Installing iTunes on a new PC and then getting it sync-ed to existing iphone...

Just wondering if anyone can help...

I've just got round to installing iTunes on my newish PC, having just carried on using it on the old one and not bothering to update very often. However in a bid to be organised thought it more sense to have it on this PC than the old one that spends most of its time displaying the blue screen

I clicked on the sync box on itunes, wanting it to pick up everything that is on my iphone - but it seems it wants to do it the other way around, and put everything that is on itunes onto my iphone (ie nothing) and wipe everything else (ie everything!) off it. cue panic, luckily had not automatically pressed start or anything.

But just wondered if anyone can tell me how I can get this new itunes on my new PC to sync to my iphone and pick up all the stuff I have on it.

It probably doesn't help that it is going to ask me for a password and it is so long since I have entered it on my other pc that I can't remember what it is...

I've had a look through the apple support but it assumes that either I am syncing a phone that has already been set up with it or that it is a brand new clean and empty phone that I want to set to sync. I can't find where it covers old phone and wanting to transfer stuff over to new pc...

If you've got this far - thank you!
