Which DVD player should I buy?

Not really very geeky as such, but our DVD player is giving up the ghost and that was a present from somone many years ago so I have no idea where to start...

We need something that will play DVDs basically If it can record stuff then that's an added bonus but our budget is non existant minimal.

We also have a very old CRT telly so are currently using scart sockets, so it needs to have one of those - although one day we might get a new telly, so it also needs to be able to work with a digital telly as well.

Any advice much appreciated - I've googled and looked through Amazon and there are so many I just have no clue at all.

If your only requirements are:

Watch DVDs, has a scart connection and will connect to a new TV when you get it, then basically ANY DVD player will do this.

Buy the cheapest you can find and it is highly likely to do what you need.
