We have Sky freesat service. I am not prepared to pay a subscription to upgrade to sky+. We currently use a Panasonic HDD/DVD recorder which is ok (does all the pause live TV etc) but can only cope with one satellite channel at a time so no recording one channel and watching another.
This hasn't really been a problem up to now as we tended to record off analogue when possible (better signal) and watch sky. Now we are about to lose analogue, I think a new HDD with twin tuning capabilities would be in order.
Does such a thing exist to use with an existing sky decoder box? Or are we looking at dumping Sky and going Freesat? (DH not impressed by that due to the range of obscure motor racing channels you can't get anywhere else)
We do have a freeview telly but the range of channels is different and arguably not as good.
What's a good make of HDD/DVD recorders?
