2 itunes questions for clever people!

1. If I get a new iphone 4, how can I put everything (ie contacts?) from my iphone 3? Do I call it a different name and synch it as a new phone (I don't recall ever seeing a list of all my contacts in itunes??) DS is having my old iphone, so I still want itunes to recognise my old phone, too!

1. My laptop which has all our itunes stuff on is threatening to die! Is there any way of putting all the stuff that's in the itunes account (bought films/music) onto a separate computer? Is that what icloud is for? I'd like to copy everything onto an itunes account on our other laptop-is that possible?

1. If iTunes is set up to sync your contacts at the moment then they should be somewhere on your computer (on a Mac they will be in the Address Book App) so if you sync contacts on the new phone then they should flow from your computer onto the phone. So check the sync settings for contacts in iTunes when the phone is connected and see if they go anywhere...

2. iTunes can show you and let you get at everything you've ever bought, and you could then download them again. So yes you could do it that way. Or you could copy the music off of the old computer and onto an external disk drive and then add it onto iTunes on the other computer, which might be a little bit quicker if there's a lot of stuff.
