DD has put a password on her new Ipod touch, and you've guessed it, can't remember it now.

We 're going nuts here! She's crying her eyes out and Dh and myself are going round in circles. Any ideas please????

try connecting it to the computer/laptop - that should unlock it?

AllThreeWays · 25/12/2011 22:36

I just Googled and found this:

Plug iPod into laptop;
Go to "My Computer'
Open iPod's Drive

Make sure you can see all hidden folders (If you aren't sure go to Tools, Folder Options, View Tab, and check Show)

Open the folder "iPod_Control"

Open the folder called "Device"

Rename the file "locked" to "unlocked"

I think doing a forced restore overrides it but not 100%. Hold top on/off button and home button together at the same time for few seconds until it goes off. Then turn back on again.

If you connect it to Itune,it will give you the option to restore it,this will wipe any music and apps but will also remove the password, and you will have to start again.instuctions here. This is the third forgotten password thread I have answered todayXmas Grin

You need to restore not reset.

fannybanjo · 25/12/2011 22:46

Ignore my post - doesn't work... Yes restore on iTunes.

Panadbois · 26/12/2011 09:44

Well, we got it working again, but it took about two and a half hours. Didn't get to bed til one am (yawn)

Don't think its a mistake she'll make again!

Thanks again trusty MNetterrs.
