How to delete apps on iPad?

The user guide tells me to press down on an app, wait until vibrating and then press the 'x'. Just like I do on my phone. However on my iPad, the apps vibrate but don't have a x. What do I need to do?

on mine - you press the app like you said and it shakes. there is then a small cross that appears on the top left corner.

Are there any 'x' ? You can't delete preinstalled apps from Apple. So for example, you can't delete YouTube or Settings but anything you've installed yourself (like Facebook) can be.

If there are no x's with any apps then go into Settings -> General -> Restrictions and turn off 'Delete Apps'

If you are trying to delete a preinstalled app, you can choose to hide them here as well.

Hope that helps

What furball said.

Tap and hold app til it shakes and an "x" appears
