Being asked for my btinternet password ALL THE TIME!

I use regular mail on my Mac for email. Have had the same email address and password since getting the machine nearly two years ago. Account unaltered. However, today, I must have been prompted to give my BT internet password at least 20+ times... why is that happening all of a sudden? I'm getting the password right, but then ten minutes later, it comes up asking for it again and again..

Is it just a blip, or do i need to do something?

I think this happens when Mac Mail has had trouble connecting to an email server and it presumes it's something to do with the user name and/or password so prompts you. I'm sure I've gone through phases of seeing it a lot with another email provider.

So this is probably something at BT's side, which explains why other people are seeing it too.

Ok, well, it's very interesting to hear others have had the same problem.

I've had it in the past, and usually its just a few times, not endlessly all day like today. And I am pretty sure it's nothing at my Mac end, as I have changed nothing, so i think it must be a glitch with BT.. makes sense! Router is not dropping off and internet has not had any interruptions.
