I was with pipex homecall but they have been taken over by talk talk.
Now I want to change provider but I don't know who to change to!
DS1 keeps saying plusnet but reviews vary.

Plusnet have a pretty good reputation. Personally I use BeThere because they have provided me with a stellar service and have not once moaned about my downloading. Even if some months I can easily go over 100GB.

TalkTalk are arguably the worst. Certainly they are the most complained about ISP.

I'd say if you can bundle with Sky or Virgin then go with them. There are loads on the market. Personally I think a smaller provider (like Bethere) are better since you are not put through to large call centres with different levels of agents. You call, you talk to a human. Full Stop. I've learned that I'd rather pay a few quid extra for that than the battery farm experience of the big ISP's.

Our contract with Talk Talk is coming to an end was thinking about starting the same thread!

Have seen adverts for Plusnet, the current offer they have just now ends before we can change over but I will get my husband to look at their site, he understands it all better than me

I thought our contract ended in Jan but just asked OH and it is April 2012, so a wee while to go yet!

If you are in an area covered by the Virgin cable network, it's worth looking at their various packages - their broadband speeds are actually as fast as advertised, unlike most of the other providers, and there are some quite good deals for broadband/phone/tv packages.

I've used them for several years and have found them extremely reliable and the customer service (on the few occasions I've had a problem) to be very good - but I have read conflicting reports on here, so the network reliability may vary by area.

Bloody internet keeps going down. Getting worse and worse over the last few days. Don't know if its the router or isp.
Off to look up Bethere!

Just to say, Plusnet got bought by BT sometime ago and there customer satisfaction has been dropping since, my brothers friend was with them until they messed him around and he told them to stick it.
