I know, I know its not an AIBU but need help fast :(

I have been sent a application form for a job via email in PDF and they want me to fill it in and return via email.

Now how the hell do I type on it? It won't let me type nor cut and paste it in word properly.

Am slowly losing the will to live and the laptop will be taking a one way trip to the far side of fuck in a minute Angry

Please, please, please can someone help me?

You need a PDF editor - see if Adobe still do the free trial of Acrobat Professional

HairyBeaver · 17/11/2011 13:58

Ok THANK YOU! :)

PDFEdit is open source (completely free) and highly recommended.

ViviPru · 17/11/2011 14:07

That's rather unprofessional of them. It is not generally commonplace to have a PDF editor installed. Hopefully it might deter some of your competition, Hairy!

HairyBeaver · 17/11/2011 14:08

I know thats exactly what I was thinking Vivi, was just going to print out but they really want it back via email.

Thank you chuff, just downloaded and fingers crossed I can do it Grin

I hate .pdf files. Such a bloody faff to edit them. Good luck with the job application.

Hi. We've moved this to 'Geeky Stuff', as we think it's the best place for it.

BadgersPaws · 17/11/2011 16:48

You may not need a PDF editor...

Editable fields were introduced in more recent, relatively speaking, versions of Adobe Reader. That way you can just edit the bits they want you to edit and not cause all sorts of problems to the PDF by editing the whole thing.

Download the update to date reader from:
www.adobe.com/

And then it all might just work.

Or, alternatively, they might be muppets and not thinking about what they're doing :)

i hate this! or when they send you a form that moves about as you type leaving boxes all over the place
