Dd's laptop is broken.

She has itunes loaded on her laptop but obviously can't connect to it.
Is there a way of loading itunes onto my netbook and then synching her ipod to it ...or will she lose all of her stuff?

Is there any way around this?

Help!

You can have up to five computers using your ITunes account, so no problem there.

Just make sure when you go to synch that you read any warnings they give you.

The itunes account is on her laptop, and she cannot connect to it because the laptop is broken.

I would be loading a new itunes on to my netbook.

Do I just load itunes and then connect her ipod? I'm worried that if I synch her ipod to a blank itunes, then she'll lose everything - is this not the case?

Thanks for the reply btw Smile

you need your itunes to be set to NOT sync automatically

Then plug your ipod in and find it in 'my computer' copy the files from it into a folder on your desktop and put them into itunes manually.

explains it better here although it's quite an old post.
I'm sure thats the way I did it but it was a while ago.

I bought a new PC recently, having previously used ITunes on my clunky old laptop.

I downloaded ITunes and then plugged in various IPhones, IPods and an IPad.

Each time it remarked that this was a new ITunes and did I want to transfer purchases etc. Basically, the mobile device was deemed to be up to date, and everything on it was used to populate the new ITunes.

What you can't do is have ITunes associated with several accounts (different email addresses) and then expect it to download all media to all your devices. It gives you worrying messages about deleting your files and replacing them with far fewer files. Just make sure you read everything before committing to the synch.
