German electronic dictionary / kindle?

Not sure where this needs to go, but i thought it sounded geeky.
Mil would like an electronic German dictionary for Christmas. Ok I thought and then realised they are about £150! I am sure she has no idea they are this price. You can get a translator which is cheaper, but they seem to have about 10 languages on and I don't think it's the right thing.

I had the idea of buying her a Kindle and then getting a German dictionary for it. It's cheaper and she can then use the kindle for other books...although I don't think she will. Anyone got any experience with electronic german dictionaries or kindle with German dictionary?
