I removed the eBay app from my iPhone 3, as DSs were looking at my watch list, and it's mostly Xmas presents!
I want to reinstall it, but it says I need iOS 4.0
Am I completely stuffed, or is there any way I can get it?

You need to update your iPhone. Plug it in to iTunes and update!

I think it might want upgrade you to iOS 5 now - beware, this may take some time.

Sad to say, DH normally does all my technology, but he's away at the moment Blush
This will give me the boost I need to try and get to grips with it myself!

It will take a long time to update.. It took me 3 hours and then it lost a lot of my apps and all if my contacts... So be prepared! Sad

Is your phone a 3G or 3GS? If it's a 3G, ios5 won't run on it, and when you sync you should only be offered the latest compatible upgrade, which I think is 4.2.1.

If it's a 3GS, iOS 5 will run, though a few features are missing.

Some people have found that putting ios4 on a 3G slowed it down significantly and shortened battery life, and it's possible the same thing might happen to a 3GS on iOS 5. I never risked putting iOS 4 on my old 3G, which DD now has.

Updates often take longer and seem more likely to have problems if you skip a few, so going from 3 to 5 might have more problems than from 4 to 5, also if you've missed any of the intermediate updates.

Captain, the contacts may not be lost, just not in the right place. This happened to me. Go to settings and choose Mail, Contacts andCalenders, scroll down and select Import Contacts from Sim. They should all reappear.

Ooohhh Tasty I'll give that a go, thanks!
