ipod touch - please help me set up and open new itunes account

Ds has a new ipod touch and I want to set it up for him. I'm normally quite give-it-a-go with my own things but don't want to mess this up for him. I also want to open a new itunes account for him but can't seem to work out how to do it. Can you have more than one on one computer? Will this stop all dh's iphone stuff syncing with the new ipod touch? I have so much to learn. Thank you, Geeky friends. I always feel like I take much more than I give in this topic.

Why do you want a new itunes account for him? If you don't that, you can't (I believe) share music and apps.

But yes, you can have more than one account on each computer. You can have five devices linked to a single account too.

If you have separate accounts, then you log into the one you want on iTunes.

You can set the iPod touch up to manually manage it's music or to sync from just particular playlists or artists. That way you can avoid having everything that's in the iPod library on every device.
