Why is my macbook so slow?

i'm running the repairs now as a precaution. my macbook is 3yrs and still doing really well

don't go disappearing from mn - good to know a mac expert is around Smile

I run them now and again anyway even if I don't see any problems...

That's exactly how it should be. Macs, as a rough general rule, don't get as "cluttered" up as Windows based machines and should run fine for years. If a Mac starts slowing down then that's usually a sign that something is wrong and it's worth checking out.

Unfortunately not...

Windows machines do get cluttered up over time and will start to slow down. However if you know what you're doing you can hunt down what's slowing the thing down and tidy it all up, but it takes a bit more work.

It might be worth starting a new threat and stating what version of Windows is on the laptop and then someone will be along to help (it might even be me).
