I fear this is a very stupid question, but here goes.

Accountant advises Sage, "don't worry, use Fusion to make it work on your Mac, it is brilliant".

Have duly purchased Fusion.

Can't make it work. Fusion that is, haven't got as far as trying to make Sage work.

Do I need to buy the windows operating system too?

Yes, you need Windows and you'll need a license. All VM Ware Fusion is is a Virtual Machine host, a computer within a computer. That Virtual machine needs something to run, and that something in your case will be Windows.

So you could go out and buy a copy of Windows and the job's done.

Or if you have another PC at home you could migrate Windows from the real physical machine to the virtual one inside your Mac. However if you do that you can't then sell the old computer or, in theory, use it at the same time. Licensing for Windows is complicated but that sort of thing will, I believe, break it.

VM Ware themselves have some more info on this at:

Thank you. Very kind to get back to me.

Thanks for that link on the VM site. Their site is such a maze.
