Want to create a form within Libre Office and haven't a clue

Is there some sort of online instruction manual for the fuckwitted? I want to build a form that I can link onto my website for clients to fill in, how do I do this> (Waaa! Waa! I am so useless!)

I can't give very specific Libre Office instructions but I can give some general help.

Firstly save the form as an RTF (Rich Text Format) formatted document, don't create a word document (.doc or .docx). You want the document to be as portable as possible and you don't want them to need a certain piece of software in order to open it. RTF is probably the most portable of the formats where you also get some layout options. So use a very simple table to lay out the questions and answers boxes, don't do a lot of design or graphic work.

However a downloadable form isn't really the ideal way to do this. A better way is just to have a web page that displays the questions, let's the user enter/select the answers and then emails you the results.

This is actually reasonably simple to code, but your web host would need to support scripting and emailing. There are plenty of samples of how to do this out there on the net.

Even easier is just to use someone else to host the form and get them to email you the results. There are companies who do this, for example www.emailmeform.com/. However consider that you will be giving them your email address and if you ask a question on the form for your customers email address then they'll also get their hands on that. So if you do go down this route google the companies and try and find some reviews so as to make sure that you're happy using them.

Thanks - I think I might just make a list of the questions for clients (as they are not the sort of questions that will work with tick-box answers). Never a good idea to be too ambitious too early on [hwink]
