DH has killed google chrome! How do I fix it?

DH defraged the PC last night and now even though google chrome is working for some sites on others i'm unable to get images, Google search isn't working properly either. What's he done? I have banned him from touching the PC again because every time he does something goes wrong

I'm a complete technophobe so please explain how to correct this as if you are talking to a stupid person.

I'd be tempted to uninstall Chrome and then reinstall it, you might loose your bookmarks (though I'm sure there's a way to export and then re-import them if you're desperate) and history but it would pretty much guarantee a clean working Chrome.

As is usual with this sort of thing whenever a Windows PC starts to behave oddly have you got up to date Virus and Malware (they are two different things) protection?
