GAH! text disappearing in Word. WHY??

I'm completing an application form in Word, so I'm typing in boxes IYSWIM.

I'm just writing my personal statement bit and I've got to a point where if I type, all the text in that box disappears. It comes back if I delete a few letters.

WHY? Why would it do that?

It's a job application and the closing date is tomorrow, please help

I'm guessing, but: it may be that the field you're typing into has a size limit (possibly incorrectly set). Or the line spacing is wrong. Try reducing the font size of the text you're typing in there.

thanks roarers, that sounds likely. I didn't realise fields can be limited.

I'm trying (and failing) to fit two thousand words into a box no bigger than half a side of A4... so that ain't gonna happen is it?!
