why is my computer showing websites as text?

help please.
not all sites, just some.
i get a shitty text version that is impossible to navigate.

can see pics on internet explorer, but computer has gone stupidly slow.

Open up the Options Window (Tools/Settings on Windows) and check the settings on "Content", make sure that "Load Image" and "Enable JavaScript" are both enabled.

However that everything is slow suggests that something else is going on here.

Make sure that your anti-virus and anti-malware software are both up to date and do a full scan. If you don't have anti-malware then this is a good and free one to use:

If that doesn't find and fix the speed issue then come back and we can look into it in a bit more detail.

i downloaded AVG and it seemed to sort the problem.
