Lotus Notes

Can someone please give me a non tecky(sp!) quick overview of what the above applicaton is and how it is used. Hope you can help. thnks

It's a bit like Outlook (not Outlook Express). In a corporate environment users can access emails, calendars and task lists. It can also host applications better than Outlook can, so if you're aware of it it's often compared to Sharepoint for that part of it's functionality.

Just for completeness, Lotus Notes can do an awful lot more than just be an Outlook and Sharepoint equivalent. One place I worked at had most of its corporate systems in Notes. Expense claims, foreign exchange rates, airline and other travel ticket reservations, all purchasing etc. were all done via Notes databases.
