Arrgghhh my iPhone has frozen

Hi everyone,

My phone's just frozen and I don't know what to do. The kids were playing on it so they could have been involved but usually they are careful so not sure.

Anyay its an iPhone 3, and the screen is all black with the silver apple symbol in the middle of the screen and a thin horizontal line under the apple. Looks like when it's loading up or shutting down.

It's been like that for about 10 minutes now...

Please help, I can't survive without it I know I am sad and need to get a life

Have you tried pressing the on/off button and the home button at the same time. Hold it down for at least 5 secs. That should turn it off. Then try turning it back on again. If that doesn't work then you can restore via iTunes. It doesn't get rid of all your data but you might need to reload some apps.
If you use google you'll find loads of sites giving step by step instructions.
