Forgotten the iPad password and now locked out. Help please.

we are on holiday and I put a password on the iPad to stop the DCs fighting over it. stupidly I then forgot the password and used up all the attempts so now it is frozen. If we wait until we get home and plug it in to the Mac will it be all okay? Is there anyway we can use it in the meantime? We have access to laptop and the Internet.

Sort of. It was 5 mins then 15 then 30 etc but then it locked completely.

In that case you will need to plug it into the mac and restore the last backup.

thanks for the postings. Apparently it's not registered as a device in i tunes. Will that matter once I'm back home on the mac?

I don't understand? Do you mean your ipad isn't registered on your laptop or the mac? The ipad should have been set up via iTunes on a computer (I assumed you meant your mac). Whichever it was, that's the computer you need to plug it into.
