I read on here somewhere about a magic eye remote control signal receiver thingy (can you tell I'm the technical type 
) and that they didn't have to have the sky box on display then. All the ones I've seen talk about using a Sky box (we only have Freesat) and using it to control the telly from another room. Presumably there is no reason why I couldn't use it in the same room as an excuse to hide the Freesat box?
