Can you programme your sky remote so you can use it with a new TV?

We have a new old TV - my mum gave it to us

It has lost it's remote

My dad says you can programme the sky remote to control it; I think I am best buying a universal remote (any good ones out there?)

yes, you can as the sky controller is also a universal remote. just google the make/model of the tv plus sky remote and you'll find loads of instructions. you usually have to try a few of the codes before you find the right one.

I have it changing channels - but I can't tune in
