Ipad 2- how to get movies on there?

My iPad 2 has been dispatched so I'm being keen and updating my itunes library ready for it's arrival!

I have done a google search and was overwhelmed with the techy answers so go easy on me. How do I get my DVD's onto iTunes ready to put on the iPad? I am using windows 7 and was told 'handbrake' wont be any good.

Any reason why Handbrake won't be any good? It's what I use to transfer videos. But then I don't use DVD's but xvid's. Same principle though.

Someone told me it doesn't work well with windows 7? I'll give it go then if that's what you use.

Are you able to give me a quick step by step guide how to do it or point in the direction of where to find one?

It works fine for me on Windows 7. I've converted loads. There are tutorial's on Youtube. A DVD is more fiddly but the principle's the same.
