What's the difference between Kaspersky Anti Virus and Kaspersky Internet Securiity?

Both seem to offer protection against viruses, digital ID theft and hackers, but is one product more superior to the other? TIA

The anti-virus bit is the same. The Internet Security product includes a firewall and some other extras.

Go for neither. Save yourself the cash and get either AVG or even Microsoft Security Essentials

Both are free and you already have a decent but basic firewall built into XP or newer. A firewall from Kaspersky will be obviously better in that it will give you more options but without meaning to sound rude, 99% of people won't have a clue and simply click yes to any prompts anyway. Or click No then wonder why something's not working.....

You don't say which operating system you're using. Microsoft significantly improved the firewall in Windows Vista, but the firewall included in XP has significant drawbacks including the lack of outbound filtering. In all versions, there have been some concerns raised that default options are not very secure and configuring Windows firewall is not always straightforward, with the help files sometimes regarded as confusing.

IME, most modern security suites are easy to use as they're aimed very much at non-expert users, don't constantly offer prompts (unlike Windows firewall when outbound filtering is enabled) and cope easily with a very wide variety of third party programs that a user might install. Due to the nature of the code they employ they also cope better with 'day zero' malicious code exploits.

I'll second MSE, but AVG free does not provide the same level of protection.

I used to use and recommend Kaspersky Internet Security myself until MSE came along.
