Quick cos I'm feeding baby & cooking dinner but have an iPhone problem!

tried to sync, it says back up or phone corrupted. Helpline says restore it but reassure me if I restore it without backing up it will restore to last back up?

My photos are safe so I'm not sure exactly what I'm worrying about but hate restoring!

I would restore it. As long as your photos are safe. It is a pain though.

Thanks! I get so stressed over my phone stems from when I couldn't get the pics off.

only offers my restore from yesterday which won't work and alternative is Aug 2010.

Can you think of the last thing that you downloaded onto the iPhone and take that off, if you can. Then try synching again.

You have your photos though? So if need be, you could back up to last year? Or is there other stuff on the phone?

phone is now on factory settings. cant think of any recent downloads that may have caused it thouighFB was weird yesterday.

If I back up to last year will the apps/music in my itunes still be there?

did you unplug the phone during a sync? you may need to delete that file and start over.

Apps - you can put them back on, you won't be charged extra - even if they were not yet on iTunes.

Music - you only get those that you have transferred to iTunes.

on iTunes, tab at the top - where it says "apps, music etc..." (on the iPhone thing) there should be one with photos. Click and browse to find the folder that you saved your photos in.

Thanks, think most of my music survived. only an odd song seems to not be in the library. Still downloading though.

Have put together an album of pics to go back on as I sort them into folders when I copy them off and I've years worth there. I wanted mainly the last year on my phone with dd3s baby pics.

Tookages last night but am just about up &running.

Tidying it all back up now, new bookmarks, files, contacts, signing in to everything. Lost a few contacts & texts but that's about it

Think you are going to have to contact Apple. Do you have a Genius Bar nearby? They are very good.

Nearest apple store is the Trafford centre about 3 hours away.

Been on the helpline & he said make a new account to back up on to ( was on hold while a couple discussed it) they'll teach me over the phone but I couldn't do it this am with the baby helping & dd1/2 quizzing me. He's noted on my file & I'll phone tomorrow for someone to show me.

They are good & I'm v grateful for buying the extended warranty thing I've used it loads for the helpline when I worry
I'm due an upgrade in June so it's only got a couple of months left.

Sort of fixed. Was easier to start new account on new user account on computer. Not sure how to deal with the other one though
