facebook messaging - emoticons - how?

have kind of worked out that :-) gives you a smiley face... is there a list somewhere or can anyone tell me how to do them

hi all, posted this a while back and also posted in chat - someone sent me a link on the chat thread but lost my favourites when I moved to a new browser and the it's gone off chat... if you are the kind person who posted the link, or you repost please (or if you are a kind person and have similar, would appreciate - not getting anything via google search) Thanks
