what the hell is it?

i keep getting this message on my laptop

'the following plug in has crashed - silverlight plug in'

and has a piece of jigsaw puzzle by it

Silverlight is Microsoft's own version of Flash, only less successful, and more buggy.

There are instructions on how to uninstall it here:
www.microsoft.com/getsilverlight/get-started/install/uninstall.aspx

If you do need it, which is pretty unlikely, when you visit a website that requires it it should prompt you to reinstall it.

thanks badger - that link doesnt work, but found it under my programmes and have uninstalled it

havnt a clue how i got it :)

'that link doesnt work' - took me to a microsofy page linking to videos for Win XP etc of how to uninstall Silverlight.

They might have used it in the "Bird's Eye" view for maps within the Bing search facility.

it didand then i clicked on link to remove off windows] and page keeps going blank
