Ipod car adaptor thingy

I have an iPod touch which I'd like to listen to in the car sometimes (usually it lives in the kitchen). In the past I've had one of those things that tunes into an 'empty' radio station to let you listen to your music (this was how DH explained it to me, as I am brainially challenged ) and it was crap.

Can I get one with an actual wire instead?

I think you can only plug one in if you have a newer car (or newer car stereo) that has a dock/socket for ipods, MP3 players etc. But I'd be very happy if someone else pops up on this thread to say otherwise....

I've had a few of the gadgets that tune into radio stations, and some have been better than others - maybe have a look at amazon reviews for various ones and see if you can find a better one?

If you have a cassette player in your car, you can get a cassette with a wire and iPod interface. Otherwise, you need the radio tuner.
