Anyone here a Mariokart hotshot?

We've got it on the Wii. I LOVE it. But I have a big problem and I'm sure it must be easy to sort (unless it's just that I'm crap of course ).

DP uses the nunchuck and joystick, and always has it on manual setting. I can't get the hang of the nunchuck at all so use the remote as a wheel. And whenever I try to use manual my vehicle is really slow, has a massive turning circle and any drifting tends to send me into walls/off edges. It's massively annoying because everyone seems to get the best times with it set on automatic but I simply can't make it work for me, I'm much much faster on automatic setting.

DP says it's because I'm not using the nunchuck and it's because the nunchuck's more sensitive. I don't think that's true, the sensitivity should be the same. No idea what's going on. Does anyone have any suggestions?

That's crap, I've unlocked most of the expert time trials on automatic.

I think I spent my entire first pregnancy on Mariokart Wii. Before the Wii came though I was also hooked on the original.
Which I have now downloaded onto the Wii ;)

[whicpers] I only ever play on automatic though. The manual setting interfered with my enjoyment. DH loves it though. Must be a man thing.

Yes, I've unlocked all the GPs no problem on automatic - now to start with the mirror tracks

I can't make bikes work either if I'm honest

Dolphin Dasher is the best bike I think, but the Karts definitely handle better!

If I fall off Rainbow Road once more though I'm going to cry. :(

I've only got 3 of the Mirror Class ones, but I think that's partly because DS got Mario Bros for Xmas. JOY

So there's someone out there who agrees bikes aren't the be all and end all - woo!

I'm warming to rainbow road. Maple Treeway's my favourite. Can't be doing with the SNES Mario Raceway.

What a geek I am . To think DP bought me a Wii fit and i sit on my arse racing Kart instead!

Oh yeah. The Wii Fit. That thing collecting dust at the side of the telly.
