Ok, need to replace elderly Blackberry... do I go for another BB, iPhone or HTC something?

Title kind of says it all really.... I have been v happy w my Blackberry Bold over the last 2 years, but it is giving up on me now (battery lasting for hours only, having to constantly restart, reboot etc.....)

Am tempted to stick with what I know and go for the Blackberry Torch (bigger screen, touch screen but with slide out qwerty keyboard), but given that I will be signing up for at least an 18 month contract, I wanted some recommendations....

I assume I don't want an iPhone because I kind of hate trying to type on a touch screen. This is for work (am self employed) not fun really (too busy for phone fun.... uurgh!). DH used to have a BB Storm and I couldn't bring myself to use it AT ALL.

I really need decent email, texting and a browser would be handy (I find the browsing on my current BB totally pants tbh, so if that could be improved, it would be good, but not essential).

What about HTC? I know sod all about them.... but they are highly rated I think....

Any top tips oh wise ones?

Many thanks!

I've just got a HTC Desire HD and I really really like it. But I think it's everything you don't want tbh, not least a touch type screen. I've heard good things about BB Torch, but no experience with them.

Given you've been happy with Blackberry and that you hate touch screens then I think stick with a Blackberry.

DH recently changed from BB to iPhone and found it difficult to begin with but really loves it now.

The browser is much easier to use (although he had an ancient BB so that might be better on the newer versions) and he loves the apps. He has Economist, various news channels and a few games. We can also text free with an app.

I think you can do most of these things with the newer BB though, so you might be as well sticking with it.

Sorry, was out and about and only now back online....

Thank you all for confirming my instinct. The new BB it is I think.... might save my pennies for the iPad mark 2 if I have enough time to play.....!
