Got the new battery - need help to install it.

Well, my new laptop battery has arrived from Amazon.

The enclosed leaflet wants me to change some settings in Power Supply before I fit it. Is this usual? I worry about altering anything in case it goes wrong so would be grateful of any help and advice please.

What settings is it asking you to change?

BadgersPaws - it was in connection with the fitting of the new battery which is HP and not a 'compatible' one. It was to switch off the low battery warning, etc.for charging and discharging procedure.

I have now been guided through the process with the kind help of another MNetter via Messaging - where I was able to type out all the instructions for them to double check for me.

The relief I feel might seem out of proportion to the task but I have bad memories of pressing the wrong buttons on computers!!
