Can I get Adobe back after deleting it?

Our Sony Vaio keeps telling us that we need to free up disk space on C drive. We have done a tidy up and have also done their own desktop wizard version. One week on it's still flashing up the message, I switched it on and tried to put on youtube and it advised me to install adobe 10. I tried this and it threw me off the adobe website. I went back to my desktop and there isn't the adobe shortcut that used to be there. DH can't remember deleting it and neither can I, would it not let me install it as the original program has gone (not in our recycle bin either) or is it to do with the amount of disk space left? Can't think of how to cut it further, is the laptop fucked?
