internet pages are scrolling in a weird way

Have just had computer fixed due to the malwear virus that another poster had mentioned. My internet explorer looks weird - have downloaded internet explorer 8, but the pages are scrolling funny. when i press the down arrow to come down the page, it's almost like the page refreshes from the top down, rather than rolling smoothly down the page, if you see what i mean. incredibly annoying! anyone got any ideas why and how to fix? thank you.

It might be that your computer isn't powerful enough to run Internet Explorer 8, and so the scrolling isn't smooth which could well generate the effect you describe.

However the requirements for IE8 aren't that high, so unless you've got an old or underpowered machine you should be OK with it.

Is your machine generally running OK? Does everything else seem to be fast and smooth?

It might also be worth trying another browser (perhaps Chrome or Firefox) as they are generally much better written than Internet Explorer and could run better.

Hmmm, could it be your display driver has been reset to SVGA?

What version of Windows are you running? XP/Vista or Win7?
