blocking texts and numbers

Soes anyone have any hints on this. My BIL wants to block texts from his ex but his service provider 02 says its not possible and his phone is the LG cookie. Any apps or add ons?? Not holding out much hope

I think Samsung's have this ability, not LG though.

Not 100% sure however.
