Ipad vs Samsung Galaxy

Hi, dh said I can have either, the samsung galaxy is dearer via my contract than the ipad but seems better. I dont want or can not afford the ipad 2.
Anyone who has any experience of the Galaxy and/ or the ipad. I have seen great reviews on here for the ipad but nobody seems to mention the Galaxy.
Please help

DO you want specific apple only apps?

I think the galaxy is Android which is fine and compatible with Flash.

See I have no idea tbh, i want to use it as an e reader, to fb and mn and to watch films that have been downloaded.

Ipad has an ibook store but i think you can get the amazon kindle app for android devices.

I have neither but researched them very thoroughly before deciding we need to pay off some debt first

I'd forget the Samsung Galaxy Tab.

Firstly it's too small. The 7" form factor will drive you mad. It's too small to be readable for long periods, too big to carry around like a phone.

Secondly Android 2.2 is not really tablet friendly and there are not so many tablet applications available. Version 3 (aka Honeycomb) is the tablet friendly Android.

The thing which makes Apple so much better is the ecosystem. It's got the apps, the entire experience.

You can usually have a good play inside a store. But there's a reason hardly any tab's have sold compared to the ipad. In fact, Samsung are bringing out a 10" tablet soon which sort of tells you they admit 7" is too small.
