Geeky stuff

Ahem. Google Calendar. Can I use it as a 'group' calendar?

I'm a bit cackhanded technologically, so I'm throwing myself on your mercy...

I'm trying to set Google Calendar up for a project I'm working on. I've 'invited' my contacts but they can't seem to log in and update the diary.

Is there anyone here who knows how to do it? I can't seem to find an obvious answer from the Google FAQs.

(or should I just save myself a lot of time and trouble, round up some pigeons and send them off instead? That's more the level I'm working from, tbh)

TIA

Ah, thank you OhYouBadBadKitten - I thought I'd failed some sort of evolutionary test when I tried to set it up.

Let's hope the big kids with the answers arrive shortly, eh?

Click on 'Settings' for the calendar.

Then under 'SHARING', click 'Edit Settings'.

Under 'Share with specific people', make sure all the people you want to share with are there. Under 'Permission Settings' select 'Make changes to events' for each person and save changes.

Ah! Mranchovy have a Wine. (If we had any nibbles here, I'd pass them over too.)

Thank you so much. It's a real help - it's been causing me quite a few problems here so I'm hugely grateful.

OYBBK, hope that helps you too.

And if you ever need any advice on pigeons, Mranchovy, you know where to come Smile

thank you Mr Anchovy and thank you madam for being so insistent. I shall have a play later and then dh will have no excuse for not knowing what the rest of his family are up to!

madamimadam · 04/03/2011 11:30

Well, I hope I didn't seem too strident - but I now have 3 meetings sorted in my calendar, thanks to Mranchovy.

Hope you and your family have a well-calendared weekend, OYBBK Smile

You did sound a bit desparate!

Now I could do with some pigeon advice - Bordeaux or Rhone? Grin

OhYouBadBadKitten · 04/03/2011 18:09

thank you - you too madam :)

madamimadam · 04/03/2011 19:46

My pleasure Smile

Now, mr A believe it or not, this is something I can help with. May I inquire as to the age of the bird and method of cooking?

She'll be 46 - its her birthday Grin

madamimadam · 04/03/2011 20:06

Oh, you are a card Smile

Many happy returns to Mrs A (and I'd go for the Bordeaux, myself)
