Facebook and Hotmail issues

I did a defreg regular virus scan etc and now I cannot see facebook or hotmail. It logs in but nothing appears.
Can I have accidently done something? I can use both on my phone but not on my laptop.
Any ideas on how I can fix this?

Try a different browser like Firefox or Chrome

Both are free.

Nothing will download!! I am not sure what I have done wrong. Have I killed my computer?
