Can't get CBeebies anymore!

I don't suppose anyone can help, but recently our digital signal (analogue was turned off last year) has been awful. Many of my favourite stations won't play ... and now CBeebies has gone! Shock It is going to cost me a fortune in DVD hire.

I have retuned many times, and some channels seem to move about, but not the ones I want. The second CBeebies channel has been replaced by Aljezeera, which, although educational, does not really do it for DD.

However, to look on the bright side, we have got 113 shopping channels, some educational gay porn and news from Moscow.

We live in Dorset, in case that makes the problem clear.

Sounds to me that you need a new aerial. they're not cheap but given FreeviewHD is aound the corner, you may find it a worthwhile investment.

You are prob. getting a weak signal and only receiving channels on certain muxes.

Call a couple of local aerial specialists who can give you some advice. i'd expect to pay up to £150 for a decent aerial Inc fitting. Shimmying up to the roof is not something you want to do yourself. good luck.

this might be a stupid question but have you retuned your freeview box.. or tv??

I think when they turn off analogue they move the frequencies about

frasersmummy · 20/02/2011 11:20

I think I read somewhere that you have to retune twice for some reason

UnSerpentQuiCourt · 20/02/2011 12:56

Niceguy, I got a new aerial last year when they started talking about going digital. Will try retuning twice; who knows?

Is your aerial still facing the same direction as your neighbours then? Perhaps the wind may have moved it or its come loose.

Does your Freeview box show you what the signal strength is?

We can't get digital here - stuck on 4 channels for now unless i fork out for a satellite dish.

So I have iplayer on the Wii and watch some cbeebies stuff on that :)

The aerial is in the attic - it always has been, so that hasn't changed. The freeview box is not very sophisticated or expensive - would that make a difference?
Of course, I could let dd watch on my laptop ... but what would I then use to mn?
