Can't help with Macs but posting to bump your question up.

Only thing I can think of would be a problem with Flash. Could you check for updates to Flash?

Baffledandbewildered · 20/02/2011 22:35

If it requires flash you won't be able to watch on a mac as they don't support flash Christ knows why not!!!! Same problem on my iPad and mac book

I've started getting it happening using Google Chrome on Windows Vista.

Solution I have found so far is to scroll to the bottom of the page, then back up again.
Doesn't always happen, so hard to know what is causing it. Does it on various websites which use a video stream.

Do you get it happening all the time?

throckenholt · 21/02/2011 07:42

sometimes it is a case of the browser not having a default application for that particular type of video - you can dig around in options to see what it has set and select something.

Are you using safari ?

nannynick · 21/02/2011 07:45

I'm wondering if it's a Quicktime issue. Just spotted that one of the sites which I just tried was using Quicktime to play the video clip.

Does Youtube use Quicktime when on a Mac?

PavlovtheCat · 25/02/2011 16:23

oh it is a flash issue apparantly. they upgraded their flash thingy do da or something and it is not compatible with safari, or something. Or the safari update for it is not compatible, or something like that...

BUT...i found that if I go into the youtube poster's name, i can view it that way, but it is a faff so either they sort it or i don't bother.

throcken yes, safari, and apparantly according to some sites you need to change the resolution to 32bit. Except when I go in to change it, there is no 32bit, it is all in different settings to that!!! I am clueless Grin Although i tried changing to all that were there and all it did was make my screen stretched/shrunk etc.
