Netbook or laptop?

Does anyone have any advice about which is best - a laptop or netbook?

Currently I have a PC and would like to get something smaller, sleeker and more portable. My PC is fine but I'd like something to use alongside it so I'm not just stuck in one room when I'm online!

I use the computer for internet browsing, email, word processing, photos, i-tunes and DS sometimes plays games on it. Ideally I'd like to get something small enough to take on holiday so we can still access the internet and we could use it to watch DVDs on too. Could I do all this on a netbook or am I better getting a laptop?

About price, I don't want to spend too much either! Grin

Netbooks don't tend to have DVD drives. Other than that, though, I'd say a netbook may well do what you want.

Is the smaller screen size on a netbook a problem?

depends on what you want it for. Decide how you will be using it first, then look at what it needs to have.
personally i want the dvd drive.

you can buy an external dvd drive for a netbook

I have a netbook and love it. I can take it wherever I go and use my dongle for access to the internet. It is really light and the kids love it too as they watch movies on like a portable DVD player.

happystressedmum - do you need an external dvd drive to watch films on it?

I have an external dvd drive for my netbook. Got it on from Amazon. I think it cost about £30.
