Sorry if already answered but whats the difference between a Kindle with 3G and one without? Is the 3G worth the extra money?

Am getting one for my mums birthday and just lloking for advice really.

Also how do I download books onto it so she has something to read straight away

TIA

A kindle with 3g - you can download books anyway in the world free if you can get a mobile signal.
The non 3g one has wifi only which means you need a wifi connection to download books. If you have a wireless router at home you can get it to recognise the kindle.
To download books you need to register it to an amazon account.

thank you very much - makes total sense now!

Don;t think she'll get 3G at her house and no wifi but can get wifi at local cafe - do you think the non 3G would be OK?

you only need the wifi signal to actually download the books.

Once you have the book saved then you don't need it iyswim.

As long as she has somewhere to go to download books then she will be fine Smile

I have had my kindle about a month and I totally lov it Grin
