DS Lite won't switch on

DS2 has had his DS Lite for about 9 months. It was working fine until today, but it suddenly won't switch on. The battery is fine as I have tried that in DS2's DS.

Is there anything obvious that might be causing the problem or will I just have to take it back to the shop? I don't have the receipt but do have the credit card statement showing the purchase and am hoping they will accept that as proof if I have to take it back.

DC1's DS recently did this, it was the fuse and the screen that had gone IIRC. A friends DH fixed it is a few years old, as yours is under a year I would take it back to the shop.

Thanks. I think I probably will have to take it back, but I'm not sure whether Argos will accept the bank statement as proof of purchase.

We got ours for DS for Xmas and it has broken. We have googled about it and think the rechargable battery has gone. We still have the box (with Argos sticker on) and hope that they will exchange it.

Bank statement should be good enough, if it was a credit card transaction thats your proof from the card people, so long as it says Argos and the exact amount I don't think they can bitch.

they probably will tho because they are idiots.

Thanks all, I took it back today and they accepted teh credit card statement as proof of purchase without any problems. They have sent it off to be repaired.
