I think you need to set up parental control (if using just windows tools), but it also blocks other sites by default...

Maisiethemorningsidecat · 04/02/2011 10:12

We have a parental control set up but I'm not sure how to access it - it's all very confusing

which version of windows do you use?

Maisiethemorningsidecat · 04/02/2011 10:16

How would I find that out? We have windows 2010 if that helps

Maisiethemorningsidecat · 04/02/2011 10:28

is there item which has parental/family word in it?
click on it
you have to be logged as an admin

Control Panel\User Accounts and Family Safety\Parental Controls

above is how to get to it on Vista

kayah · 04/02/2011 10:33

then I click on account I need to update

Windows web filter
edit the allow and block list

add website to block in the panel
(including the http at the beginning - copy it from the browser adress bar)

Maisiethemorningsidecat · 04/02/2011 10:34

Got it, thanks Smile DH appears to be the only administrator, so I think I'll have to get him to do it

if yo unot sure if it works - block one adress for you and see if you can access it
but you may have to log off and on again

Maisiethemorningsidecat · 04/02/2011 10:40

Thanks so much Smile

There isn't a "Windows 2010". You'll probably be on XP, Vista or Windows 7. If you can confirm exactly which version you're on someone can make sure you've got the right instructions.

Maisiethemorningsidecat · 04/02/2011 10:52

Sorry - meant Word 2010

Pretty sure we must be on Vista as I could get to the right place following kayah's instructions - just couldn't get past DH as administrator

I think he has to log in and you'll be fine (or he can give you his password)
