Got a problem with receiving e-mails, anyone care to help?

I'm trying to get my e-mails, so I've clicked on the send/receive button and the little box comes up saying receiving 14 messages. It shows the progress and it gets to 5 of 14 and then stops.

I've tried to cancel the instruction, then start the process again, but it keeps doing receiving 14 messages again, despite the first 4 being delivered, read and deleted.

Any ideas, what I can do?

Right - the chances are that there is one HUGE email (possibly an attachment?) that is stopping the server downloading the message.

If it's a msn/hotmail account, I would log into www.hotmail.com and see whether you want to download the email first, or delete it before you download it.

If it's btinternet (for example) you can go to mail.yahoo.com and log in there.

Oh sorry! I forgot about this thread and the e-mails, because I was gassing on the phone!!

I opted for the shut down and start again and yes, it was an attachment that was big.
