Help connecting Sony Ericcson to pc!

Bought universal cable to connect Sony K700i to pc and nothing happens. Also could not find any drivers from internet to operate it.

Should I be trying to get a cable more specific to phone?

You could hunt for accessories for the K700i (not familiar with that model) on Ebay.

From my limited use of a (s/h) K800i (before it dropped from my pocket into the cat's milk, and died) the drivers CD normally try to make the phone act like a modem (ie for use on a laptop with phone for internet access) and plugging the cable in was OK for it to be found as a USB device [I only installed the drivers on a laptop and found the phone was then rarely accessible as a USB device on that machine, which was a pain]

Thanks - found one for all of 85p...after having forked out £5 for the universal cable which does not work!
